We are HAGG, HKU ATL GameMakers Group, a game development student interest group under Arts Tech Lab (ATL), HKU Faculty of Arts. Our community are composed of HKU students, university members and external industry advisors, and more.

Message from Founders

Game as a unique form of Art

Games are unique in their massive capability of integrating with other media forms, such as film, novels, animations, all under the core of interactive media. This capacity has lead to the amazing flexibility and variety of forms in the presentation of game contents. With this unique medium, we hope to deliver users excitement by creating originality in the process of innovation.

Play hard, learn hard

Besides from the identity of being a entertainment creator, we are first students and entertainers. Play hard and learn from the experience of playing, as to explore is one of our core missions in our university life. The best game creators enjoy their own products, so as we hope that our members can very much enjoy the playing and production of our creation.

Everyone can enjoy the process of game development

The world of game development is open to everyone, no matter you are beginners or experiencers. We hope to create a place where everyone can enjoy the process of game development without the fear of the barrier of entry to the field. As long as you keep your aspirations and passion in game development, by time you will certainly unmask your talents and potentials, and develop your unique skillset along your journey in game dev.

You are not alone in your journey of game development. Here, we have a community to support and learn from each other, and we know that nobody is perfect at the beginning. The best way to learn any new knowledge and skills is through practice. Therefore, we developed this place to develop game dev projects together, and by grouping as a team together we create wonders.

Flexible Development Schedule

We surely know that everyone has their own busy schedule. Therefore, we try our best to arrange flexible and long term project time frames in order to meet each project member's schedule. Even if you are not currently available, you can always resume on our project later according to your availability.
